European Vacation - Spring Break 2006

IMG_0939 _Large_.jpgSo I’ve never really had a spring break trip during college but this year, I finally got a chance to see France and Italy.  I met up with Bea in Paris and together we spent the next 8 days walking and eating our way through Rome, Florence, Nice, and Paris.

The trip was awesome; I encourage anyone who is planning a trip to Europe to visit those four cities.  Some of the famous sights we saw were:  The Vatican (during Sunday Mass too), The Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Ancient Ruins, The Pantheon, Roman Forums, The Duomo, Ponte Vecchio, The Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, The Louvre, and the Palace of Versailles.  I really enjoyed learning about the history of each place and kinda picturing what it was like at the time.  Also, the art was just incredible to look at.

We planned out our own trip instead of taking a tour and took the high speed trains in between each city.  We got to experience overnight train rides in a cochette, a daytime view of the southern coast (Cote de Azur) of France, and the green French countryside from Nice to Paris.
Anyways, I’ve been back for a few days and I’m still affected by the time difference.  I’ll post another entry detailing each city but for now, you can see some of the pictures in the gallery under “European Vacation”.
